Microneedling in Seoul (Hongdae): Scars, Pores and Glow
Microneedling creates tiny controlled channels in the skin to trigger natural collagen production, improving acne scars, enlarged pores, fine lines and texture. In Hongdae it is offered as classic microneedling, RF microneedling, or combined with PRP or serums. Expect 1 to 3 days of redness, and a series of 3 to 6 sessions for best results.

How it works
Microneedling uses a pen-type device with very fine needles to make thousands of micro-channels in the skin. The skin responds as it would to a tiny wound, producing new collagen and elastin that gradually smooth scars, refine pores and firm the skin.
RF microneedling adds radiofrequency heat at the needle tips for deeper tightening and is often chosen for acne scars and laxity. The channels also let serums such as growth factors, vitamin C or PRP (platelet-rich plasma from your own blood) absorb more deeply.
After numbing cream, most people feel light pressure and a vibrating or scratching sensation. Skin looks like a mild sunburn for 1 to 3 days.
How it compares
| Compared with | Difference |
|---|---|
| RF microneedling | RF microneedling adds radiofrequency heat for deeper collagen remodeling and tightening, with slightly more downtime than classic microneedling. |
| Fractional CO2 laser | CO2 laser resurfaces more aggressively for deep scars but has longer recovery, while microneedling has shorter downtime and suits most skin tones. |

Frequently asked questions
How much does microneedling cost in Seoul?
Cost depends on whether you choose classic, RF or PRP microneedling and the size of the area. We confirm your plan and price after consultation. Message us on WhatsApp or KakaoTalk for current options before your trip.
Does microneedling hurt?
Numbing cream is applied beforehand, so most people feel only pressure, vibration or a light scratching sensation. Bony areas such as the forehead can feel a little more intense. RF microneedling may feel warmer. Most patients find it very tolerable.
How much downtime should I expect?
Most people have redness similar to a mild sunburn for 1 to 3 days, sometimes with light flaking. RF microneedling may take a little longer to settle. Most visitors can sightsee the next day with sunscreen and a hat.
How soon will I see results?
Many people notice a fresher glow within 1 to 2 weeks. Deeper improvements in scars, pores and fine lines appear over 3 to 6 weeks as collagen builds, and continue with each session. Results vary by skin condition.
Can I fly after microneedling?
Yes, flying after microneedling is generally fine. Skin may feel dry and tight in the cabin, so apply moisturizer during the flight and drink water. Avoid makeup for the first day and use sunscreen when you land.
Can microneedling be combined with other treatments?
Yes. It is often combined with PRP, skin boosters or serums to boost results, and with laser toning in a broader plan. The doctor will advise safe timing so your skin has time to recover between treatments.

Microneedling in Hongdae – Revitalize Skin & Fade Scars Naturally
Looking to improve skin texture, fade acne scars, or achieve a radiant, youthful glow—without invasive procedures? Microneedling is a proven skin-rejuvenating treatment that boosts collagen production and helps repair damaged skin. At our clinic in Hongdae, we offer safe, medical-grade microneedling sessions tailored to your skin concerns for smoother, firmer, and more even-toned skin.
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), uses a device with ultra-fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. These micro-channels stimulate the body’s natural healing response, leading to increased collagen and elastin production—key components of youthful, healthy skin.
Microneedling is commonly used to treat:
- Acne scars and enlarged pores
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Hyperpigmentation and melasma
- Stretch marks
- Uneven skin texture and dullness

Targets specific skin concerns such as pigmentation, aging, or hydration.
What to Expect During Treatment
Before treatment, your skin will be cleansed and a numbing cream applied for comfort. The procedure usually takes 30–60 minutes depending on the area treated. Most patients describe the sensation as a mild prickling or scratching.
After treatment, your skin may appear red and slightly sensitive—similar to a sunburn—for 1–3 days. Mild flaking and dryness are common. Proper aftercare, such as hydration and sun protection, is essential during the healing phase.
Who is a Good Candidate for Microneedling?
Microneedling is suitable for:
- Individuals with acne scarring or uneven texture
- People seeking non-surgical anti-aging treatments
- Those with enlarged pores or hyperpigmentation
- Patients looking for a natural collagen boost
- All skin tones, with minimal risk of pigmentation issues
It is not recommended if you have active acne, open wounds, skin infections, or certain skin diseases.
When Will You See Results?
You’ll start to notice an improved glow and skin smoothness within 1 to 2 weeks, with deeper improvements in 3 to 6 weeks as collagen builds. A series of 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is typically recommended for best results.
